| | Bianchi Aquila RC is a frameset for a time trial bike that introduces significant aerodynamic innovations and a fully integrated design. "Aquila" means eagle. Bianchi chose this symbol for its emblem due to the eagle’s power in flight, extreme speed, and elegance.
"The result of 20 months of development is a model that looks as fast as it rides," states Bianchi. The development involved Kévin Vauquelin, a time trial specialist and rider for the Arkéa-B&B Hotels team, who contributed to testing the model.
Features:
Redesigned geometry for a more aggressive riding position. The new 77.5° seat tube angle and extended reach allow for a more efficient aerodynamic posture.
Aerodynamic enhancements focused on three key areas: integrated handlebars, seatpost, and bottom bracket.
Fully integrated cockpit combining aero handlebars with a seamless transition into the head tube and a unique central pillar for time trial extensions, developed in collaboration with FSA Vision.
The height and width of the pillar are fully adjustable, allowing riders to fine-tune their optimal position. Extensions can be lengthened by up to 75 mm from the base, with 5, 10, and 20 mm spacers available for precise adjustments.
Frame weight (size M): 1.3 kg. Fork weight: 400 g. Maximum tire width: 28 mm.
Test results indicate a clear savings of 16.1 W at 50 km/h on a 40 km course.
